What does it really take to become a Master Photographer?

Join Austin Professional Photographers Association for a special evening featuring a panel of Master Photographers from within our own community.

This inspiring discussion will give you a behind-the-scenes look at the journey toward earning the recognition of Master Photographer. Our panel of about 8-10 photographers will share their early work alongside their award winning images, showing how their style, creativity, and technical skills have evolved over time.

Hear honest conversations about the lessons they learned along the way, the challenges they faced, the wins that kept them motivated, and the dedication it took to reach this milestone in their careers. Whether you are just starting your photography journey or have years of experience behind the camera, this event will offer encouragement, education, and insight from photographers who have walked the path before you.

Come ready to learn, connect, and be inspired by the stories behind the images.

And as always, Esmeralda Gonzalez will be ready to chat with new and current members before our meeting starts. She will be at Precision Camera by 5:30 for anyone that would like to chat.

Date: JULY 12, 2026

Location: Tim’s Place – 3434 Oxsheer Drive

Time: 9 am – 4:30 p.m.

Cost: $99

The Austin PPA supports the value of the PPA Certified Professional Photographer program. This class helps students prepare for the CPP examination. Topics include:

* Photographic equipment

* Exposure and metering

* Lighting

* Math formulas

* Color theory

* Composition

* Sample test questions

The class runs from 9 am – 4:30 pm with a break from noon – 1 pm for lunch. We will likely order pizza.

PPA members who attend this class are eligible to receive one service merit from PPA.

The instructor for this class is Tim Babiak, M.Photog.Cr., CPP. Tim has served as a local CPP Liason as well as on the Austin PPA and Texas PPA Boards of Directors.
