We are excited to offer this workshop in a hybrid format with your choice of (limited) in-person attendance or virtual attendance.

This is a PPA Continuing Education Course, so you can earn a PPA merit by attending both days of the workshop.  PPA Merits will be awarded only to those who attend the live program virtual or in-person the day of the program.

We will record the workshop, and the recording will be available to watch online for 2 weeks after the class for those who attended the training.

The Fine Art of Painting Wildlife and Nature

Creating an exceptional fine art composite consists of many things, but the two that separate good from great are conception and finish. Conception and the ability to dream up a visual idea or to tell visual story that is original and unique to your vision is priceless. Equally important is the ability to bring it all together is such away that it is beautiful and meaningful to the viewer. The finish of the art should keep the viewer engaged in the content and not the technique. Everything in between this journey is trained execution.

In this program I will share like never before on this process, known for my style, concepts and the way I finish up an image. I will share how to create concepts that reflect who you are and how to execute them and most of all finish them in such a beautiful way. I’m good at what I do and you will leave this workshop better for it. In this workshop we apply all to Wildlife Art!

Content will cover:
- Conception
- Resource gathering
- Light creation and lighting to fit the scene
- Using the right angle of view
- Extraction
- Composition
- Color theory and Harmony
- Illustration techniques that can be used on any image
- Plug-in techniques
- Brush Techniques
- PS Painting techniques
- Proven finishing techniques and presentation

This class has been approved by PPA for one continuing education merit for each attendee. (approval in progress)

From APPA: This is a hands-on class. You MUST bring your computer and a tablet (Wacom Intuos is recommended). If you don't have a tablet, beg, borrow, buy, or steal one, but you need one.

This is not an introduction to Photoshop it is an Intermediate to Advanced class. You need to have a good grasp of Photoshop prior to attending for there will not be time to be instructing on basic photoshop techniques. It is recommended that you take an introductory Photoshop class, watch some YouTube videos or otherwise prepare yourself.

This two-day workshop takes place on Saturday AND Sunday from 10 am to 5 pm both days.  We will record the virtual version, and. make it available for 2 weeks following the workshop.  This extra time to re-listen and practice specific techniques is an added bonus this year and we are excited to offer it to you!
