It's For The Birds

We will start with a briefing and instruction held at a location near Galveston before boarding the ferry to High Island and Smith Oaks Rookery for an afternoon and evening of photographing a variety of wading birds including Snowy Egrets, Rosette Spoonbills, etc. The birds should be in their prime plumage with their nests built and maybe even incubating eggs. Focus of the instruction will be on background selection, anticipation of shots, equipment, composition and exposure.

This workshop will be limited to the first 10 registrations and requires an in person attendance due to the hands on nature of the program. It has been approved as a continuing education course though PPA so attendees will receive a merit through PPA for attending.

Meeting Cancellation Policy

If our monthly membership meeting is cancelled due to inclement weather, location availability, natural disasters or other practical reasons, Austin PPA will attempt to reschedule the meeting for the following week or as soon as possible. If the meeting cannot be rescheduled for a particular month, fees submitted by all registered attendees will be applied to the following month’s membership meeting. One or more email messages will be sent to all registered attendees and the general membership regarding the cancellation and available rescheduling information.
