Maybe you’ve thought about or tried creating composites, and they just didn’t have that oomph, or they weren’t quite as believable as you hoped, or somehow they didn’t match the vision in your head. I can’t adjust the vision in your head. I can help you to create more believable and compelling composites. My goal is that viewers have no idea that it’s a composite. That’s what we’ll work toward.

The first step will be clarifying the vision: what’s the story you want to tell? Next, we’ll extract our subject(s) from their current image and prepare them for compositing. Third, we’ll select and prepare our background (see #1 above). Finally, we’ll do those subtle things* that make it seem like it’s all one thing.

This is a highly interactive session. I’ll demonstrate, then you’ll do it yourself. You will learn step-by-step, practicing everything you learn. At the end of the workshop, you will have created a composite by using each of the steps and tools you’ve learned, and you’ll be prepared to do more.

Bring your computer, a tablet, and some ideas.
