This program will take you on a Natural Light Journey from the opening scene you walk up to… all the way to a finished portrait.
Carl will dissect many different images to share what he has found to be successful. Carl’s goal is to open your mind to the thought process that goes on when creating an image. He will discuss light, posing within the light, color harmony, composition, and more. Using his own images and live demonstrations, Carl will show you how the normal client sees an image and will help determine how you can create images they will enjoy. When you leave this program, you will be able to find new backgrounds in places you would normally walk by. You will see usable light, depth and dimensions like never before. You will understand how to work without strobes. You will know how to use psychology to your advantage. Yes. It is a lot to take in, but you can’t help but learn with thereal stories, straight forward explanations and demonstrations of each and every detail.

Carl is a Kodak-Alaris Mentor and has been involved with photography for over 25 years. He started his photographic career in the darkroom as a custom printer and technician. He is PPA Certified, a Master Photographer, a Craftsman with Professional Photographers of America and an International Judge. He has won numerous national awards for his photography, including over 20 PPA Loan Collections and several Kodak Gallery and Fuji Masterpiece Awards all from Natural Light Portraits.
Carl is one of the most sought after instructors in the country because of his "Hands-On" coaching approach. Don't plan on just watching in this class... Carl will challenge you to become a better photographer than you already are. His photographic skills are just part of what will help each student. His greatest strength is his ability to see what skills others already posses and then find ways to help enhance those skills to a new level.
