Many people think that pet photography is easy because they like dogs and they have a camera. Pet photography is so much more than that! You have to know how to handle the animals. You have to know how to get them to do what you want. Not to mention lighting, posing and getting great expressions. Then there is marketing and selling...

Whether you are a family and senior photographer and want to incorporate pets into your photography, or a photographer who wants to specialize in pet photography, there is something for everyone in this talk. You will leave with actionable ideas for your business, and have a few laughs along the way!

Margaret Bryant is an award winning photographer who specializes in photographing dogs and their people. Her style is simple, original and authentic and often shows the humor and whimsy of dogs.

Starting her business in 1998, Margaret has specialized in dogs and their humans from the very start. She also photographs cats and a few horses. Margaret is knowledgeable about dog breeds, dog behavior, dog training and dog sports.

Professional development is important to Margaret and she has earned her Master of Photography and Photographic Craftsman degrees from the Professional Photographers of America (PPA). She is also a Certified Professional Photographer with PPA. Margaret is a seven time PPA Photographer of the Year medalist, a two-time Grand Imaging Award finalist, and has several images in the PPA Loan and Showcase Collections.

Margaret shares her knowledge with other photographers with speaking, teaching, private coaching and writing. She frequently speaks about pet photography and copyright to various photographic groups and can make a potentially boring subject animated and interesting.

She gives back to animal community by creating the annual Weimaraner Rescue of Texas calendar, raising cash for local spay neuter clinics with her Bow WOW Sessions, and from time to time photographing animals at the City of Dallas Animal Shelter in hopes of making the animals more adoptable.

She shares her home with Sophie, a Whippet, and Lucy, a tuxedo cat.
