As a member of a military family, Chrystina has had the opportunity to travel extensively, including several years in Germany, where she was able to appreciate the art and architecture of Old Europe. Her family eventually settled in the Texas Hill Country. Chrystina graduated from Samuel Clemens High School in Schertz, Texas and received a B.S. from Sam Houston State University, where she studied Journalism (Photography) and Agriculture. She is a Certified Professional Photographer through Professional Photographers of America, and is the lead photographer and owner of Straughan Photography.

Austin Professional Photographers Association, previously PPGA, is a non-profit organization that was established in 1950 by a small group of local working photographers who were also members of the Professional Photographers of America

Meeting Cancellation Policy

If our monthly membership meeting is cancelled due to inclement weather, location availability, natural disasters or other practical reasons, Austin PPA will attempt to reschedule the meeting for the following week or as soon as possible. If the meeting cannot be rescheduled for a particular month, fees submitted by all registered attendees will be applied to the following month’s membership meeting. One or more email messages will be sent to all registered attendees and the general membership regarding the cancellation and available rescheduling information.
